MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. touted the country’s broader diplomatic ties and engagement through independent foreign policies and also bared plans to open more foreign service posts during this year’s first Vin d’Honneur on Saturday at Malacañan Palace.
“The Philippines has since embarked on a diplomatic agenda that leverages international partnerships which have translated to increased bilateral engagements and cooperation with traditional partners, and new allies and key economic sectors and security areas,” Marcos said in his speech.
The decision was widely expected. An Inquirer’s poll of 10 economists correctly predicted today’s move by the Monetary Board, which will hold its next rate-setting meeting on Dec. 19.
The milestone underscores the company’s shift toward replacing cigarettes with smoke-free alternatives such as IQOS.
